Recognizing that adolescence is the critical period for the onset of substance use and its consequences, we are currently raising capital funds to expand our services to adolescent girls through the building of a new adolescent dorm. Thanks to the generosity of The McCune Foundation, The Hillcrest Foundation, The Hoblitzelle Foundation, The Crystal Charity Ball, The Women’s Auxiliary of Nexus Recovery, Inc and many other foundations and individuals, we will be able to expand the static capacity of the adolescent program from 18 girls to 32 girls. The new dorm will also allow us to serve more teens who bring infants and children into treatment with them-- a unique but needed service.
Further, the building will contain a workout room, two high school classrooms and additional space for outpatient and family groups. None of this could happen without your support of Nexus and our capital campaign.
Below are progress photos of the new dorm taken August 7. It will open its doors to our adolescents in fall 2012.
