You can make a difference in the lives of thousands of women and their children. Without Nexus' treatment and aftercare programs many of these women would continue in their addiction, with resulting homelessness, incarceration, removal of children to foster homes and the delivery of drug-addicted infants. Keeping families together and treating alcoholism and addiction make our community a better place.
Eighty-three percent of Nexus' funds come from state and federal government sources, but to continue helping women achieve sobriety, independence and dignity, we must raise the other 17% in our community every year. Our Board of Directors and Women’s Auxiliary help us raise money each year with the annual campaign, fund raisers and the “Next with Nexus” program. We receive support from many local and national foundations including the Harry W. Bass Foundation, CitiGroup Foundation, Gaston Episcopal Foundation, Ed Haggar Family Foundation, Hoblitzelle Foundation, Ben E. Keith Foundation, Kimberly-Clark Foundation, W.P. and Bulah Luse Foundation, Meadows Foundation, Harry S. Moss Foundation, Recovery Circles Foundation, Garland D. Rhoads Foundation and the Harold Simmons Foundation. In addition, the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas has supported Nexus for 29 years.
