Kimberly-Clark: A Day of Caring
|
On Saturday, May 4th, Kimberly-Clark Corporation employees spent a lovely day with the moms and kids at Nexus making Mother’s Day cards, painting faces, playing games, and ending with a pizza party and healthy snacks for the kids. United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Day of Caring is a year round celebration of their commitment to volunteerism with community partners. This year Kimberly-Clark chose Nexus for its volunteer project. Our heartfelt thanks go to the employees of Kimberly-Clark and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas for a fun-filled, lovely day. |

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for The Carolyn Jones Waghorne Youth Hall
|
One in a Million: Carolyn Jones WaghorneAn extraordinary year ended with an extraordinary gift: Rick Waghorne honored his wife, Carolyn, with a one million dollar gift to the Nexus Recovery Center Capital Campaign.
Rick’s gift to Carolyn and to Nexus has completed Phase One of the Removing Barriers, Restoring Lives Capital Campaign. The beautiful new adolescent dormitory on the La Prada Campus is filled with grateful clients, their counselors and teachers.
At the ribbon cutting ceremony held on January 29 and attended by campaign donors, dignitaries and friends, it was Nexus’s turn to do some honoring. The adolescent dormitory will be known as the Carolyn Jones Waghorne Youth Hall in tribute to the generosity of Rick and Carolyn Waghorne.
