Nexus Recovery Center

Gardens

Nexus boasts two extraordinary gardens on campus.

The Serenity Garden was created in 2009 to offer a space of tranquility and peace for prayer, meditation, and quiet reflection for clients, their children, and family members. The Garden offers a calm backdrop for women and adolescents as they begin to repair their lives.

The Organic Garden at Nexus was begun in early 2010 by the Founders Garden Club of Dallas. This garden is managed primarily by the adult women clients and has been a great therapeutic tool. The organic vegetable garden allows the women to be productive with their emotions, create and nurture a project, and enjoy the fruits of their labors, which in this case, happen to be vegetables! The garden has yielded radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and jalapeno peppers, which are served at the salad bar, as well as mint, rosemary, and basil spices that our chefs have utilized in everything from entrees to iced tea.
I really never knew there was any other way to live.
