- Nexus Recovery Center has provided residential and outpatient treatment in the North Texas area for 37 years and has assisted more than 18,000 families.
- Our programs are based on the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA).
- Nexus has grown from a 17-bed halfway house to a 92-bed comprehensive substance abuse provider. In fiscal year 2007 Nexus served 173 adolescent girls, 1,028 adult women, 206 women with 394 accompanying children in a residential setting, and 1,044 outpatient clients.
- Nexus recognizes the special needs of female addicts. The gender-specific approach focuses on issues prevalent in female addicts such as incest, domestic violence and co-dependent relationships.
- The average cost for treatment varies widely for different programs. The Pregnant/Parenting Women with Children Program averages $172 per day because the costs include housing and daycare for the children. Based on last year’s costs, the Adolescent Program was $163 per day and the Adult Women’s Residential Program averaged $105 per day.
- Treatment does work. 72% of last year’s clients contacted two months after treatment were maintaining their sobriety.
- Nexus serves a medically indigent population that is challenged not only by substance abuse issues, but also by poverty and difficulty accessing social services.
