The Adult Women Residential program is designed for women ages 18 and older. While living in the dormitory on the Nexus campus, women will participate in individual and group counseling on
drug and alcohol addiction based on the tenets of Alcoholics Anonymous. Nexus counselors help clients identify high-risk situations and behaviors, addictive thinking and denial. Each client develops
a relapse prevention plan that reinforces coping skills necessary to maintain a sober lifestyle. Family members are encouraged to participate in the program to gain a better understanding of the dynamics of chemical dependency and the effects of addiction on the client as well as the family.

Goals
Provide a supportive environment for education, group therapy and the recovery process

Living Arrangements
Our residential clients live in a dormitory on the La Prada campus. All clients are responsible for maintaining their living environment. Through this community structure, our clients receive positive peer support during their stay at Nexus, as well as learn responsibility and life skills.

Counselors
Upon admission to Nexus, clients are assigned a primary counselor who follows them throughout their residential stay. This counselor, along with the entire staff for that program, participates in the treatment planning for that client.

Families
Family members are encouraged to participate in the family education program to help them understand the dynamics of chemical dependency. In addition, the effect of addiction on families, as well as clients, is explored. Also, clients attend parenting classes to learn healthier skills to care for their children.
