The Nexus Aftercare Program is a place for women to continue recovery by staying connected with other recovering women.
The goal of the Aftercare Program is to transition our clients back into society as they face real world issues that can only be talked about while they are in residential treatment. Nexus understands that participation in aftercare correlates heavily with continued sobriety and the long-term effectiveness of treatment. Even though insurance and government funding do not provide for aftercare programming, Nexus created a program about five years ago utilizing existing staff and resources. The program serves women who have completed residential or outpatient treatment and would like to continue receiving support in a group setting.
Testimonial
I have been an addict since the age of 17. My addiction got me to the point of a count of
four felonies. My probation officer sent me to Nexus Intensive Outpatient (IOP) for a failed
UA. After about one week of IOP my mind started opening up to the possibility of change.
I looked at what got me here to begin with and shared with other women and the
counselors. After completing IOP I went to Aftercare, which has helped me a great deal.
Being a part of the “family” we have in Aftercare, the love and support, has helped me to
keep learning every day about my addiction and myself. I truly love this program and my
Aftercare family.
