Nexus offers outpatient services to women as a primary treatment source or as the next step after residential treatment. There is an outpatient center located on Lemmon Avenue in central Dallas that's convenient to public transportation. Outpatient services are also available at the Nexus campus in east Dallas. On-site childcare is available at both locations. Clients attend five group meetings per week that are offered in the mornings or evenings to fit a client's schedule; along with a “step-down” treatment program that decreases the attendance requirement. Clients participate in individual counseling with a focus on maintaining sobriety while dealing with the stressors of daily living.
The goal of the Outpatient program is to provide our clients a safe place to begin or to continue recovery through identifying major life stresses, personal issues, biochemical issues or mental health issues that have contributed to problematic behavior patterns.
Intensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient treatment may be utilized as a primary treatment source for individuals who are experiencing difficulties with chemical dependence or chemical abuse. This outpatient treatment can be a continuation of care for women who have participated in a residential or inpatient hospitalization, but find they are in need of continued support and structure in order to maintain achieved sobriety. Intensive outpatient may also be the first treatment source if they have been able to maintain some sobriety while in the community.
Groups are held five days a week in the mornings and evenings. We also offer a step-down model of treatment that decreases the attendance requirements to three days a week. All clients participate in individual sessions with their counselor and may participate in family therapy if needed. The groups provide a safe place to process feelings and behaviors and also provide education regarding chemical dependency issues.
Supportive Outpatient
Supportive outpatient treatment is appropriate for women who have established some abstinence in higher levels of care, but are in need of continued support and education. This level of care may also be utilized as a primary treatment source for individuals who do not require higher levels of care. Available in the mornings and evenings and at both locations, this level of treatment focuses on balancing recovery with family, school and work. Clients attend group two to four times a week and meet with their counselor for individual sessions.

Adolescent Outpatient Program
The Adolescent Outpatient Program offers individual, group and family counseling. The program is designed for chemically dependent and abusive adolescent females ages 13 to 17 years old. Family participation and involvement is strongly encouraged. Multi-family group is a required group that meets every Monday night. Family participation is mandated with the understanding that the client’s success in recovery is partly dependent on the family’s knowledge of addiction and the recovery process. Counseling is available Monday and Wednesday 6:00pm-8:00pm on our La Prada campus.
